We Are Hiring Hybrid Staff Accountant:
Location: White River Junction, Vermont, 72 South Main Street
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm

About the role:
Staff Accountant supports the finance and accounting team by performing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, supports audits, and contributes to the organization’s overall financial accuracy and efficiency.
What you will do:
Responsibilities are shared among accounting staff and may vary based on department needs.
· Accounts Payable: enter invoices, run checks, set up new vendors, and prepare annual 1099s
· Accounts Receivable: enter monthly invoices in GL, invoice customers, and perform timely follow-up on past-due balances
· Cash Receipts: prepare and record bank deposits, ensuring cash requirements are met
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure the correct GL accounts are debited and credited accordingly
· Prepare and enter journal entries, including bi-weekly payroll, quarterly tax entries, monthly allocations, and adjusting entries
· Complete reconciliation worksheets for assigned balance sheet accounts and include them in the month-end audit binder
· Assist with the annual budget and audit process
· Support additional reporting requirements as needed (responsibilities may vary)
· Respond to administrative and financial requests from external and internal customers
· Perform other duties or special projects, as assigned.
Requirements
What you bring:
· Associate degree or equivalent experience
· 3-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
· Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
· Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, while remaining highly organized and detail oriented
Summary

· Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
