Shuttle Bus Driver (Champaign, IL)

Position Overview

DREAAM is seeking a dependable and community-minded Driver to safely transport youth and support programming across our afterschool and community initiatives. This role plays a vital part in helping participants arrive safely, feel supported, and stay engaged in learning and enrichment opportunities.

The ideal candidate is responsible, safety-focused, and passionate about working with young people. In addition to transportation duties, this position assists program staff with daily activities and provides positive mentorship to youth participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate DREAAM transportation vehicles, including:
  
  
  • 24-passenger shuttle bus
    
    
  • 15-passenger van
    
    
  • 7-passenger van
    
    
• Transport participants to and from afterschool programs, community events, and field trips.
  
  
• Maintain accurate transportation logs and vehicle inspection documentation.
  
  
• Follow all safety procedures and DREAAM youth protection standards.
  
  
• Coordinate transportation routes and schedules with program staff.
  
  
• Assist with program setup, supervision, and cleanup when needed.
  
  
• Provide positive mentorship and serve as a role model to youth participants.
  
  
• Support evening and occasional weekend programming when needed.
  
  
• Assist with overnight travel for summer tournaments and events when needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois driver’s license with Passenger (B) CDL endorsement.
  
  
• Clean driving record with no major violations or DUIs.
  
  
• Experience driving multi-passenger vehicles preferred.
  
  
• Must be at least 25 years old for insurance requirements.
  
  
• Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  
  
• Ability to pass background checks and meet youth safety requirements.
  
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
