Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support both corporate quality systems and supplier quality activities across multiple manufacturing locations. This role plays a critical part in strengthening our Quality Management System (QMS), reducing risk, and ensuring suppliers and internal teams consistently meet requirements.

This is a hands-on, manufacturing-focused role. The right candidate understands how quality systems work in practice, is comfortable on the shop floor, and can work effectively with suppliers, plant teams, and leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Apply and support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements across multiple sites

  • Develop, revise, and maintain clear, usable procedures and standard work

  • Support certification and surveillance audits

  • Ensure consistent application of the process approach and risk-based thinking

  • Prevent local workarounds and “this is how we’ve always done it” behaviors

Supplier Quality

  • Manage supplier nonconformance and corrective actions end-to-end

  • Conduct supplier audits, including QMS and process audits

  • Review and approve PPAP submissions

  • Hold suppliers accountable through data-driven, professional communication

  • Support new supplier onboarding and supplier process changes

Auditing & Compliance

  • Plan, conduct, and follow up on:

    • Internal QMS audits

    • Process audits and MPAs

    • Supplier audits

  • Ensure audit findings result in real corrective action and behavior change

  • Support registrar and customer audits as needed

Problem Solving & Risk Management

  • Lead internal and supplier corrective actions (8D/CAR)

  • Verify true root cause and systemic fixes

  • Identify and reduce both internal and supplier risk

  • Translate audit findings, customer complaints, and supplier issues into improvement actions

Data & Performance Monitoring

  • Analyze quality data such as PPM, trends, and Pareto charts

  • Use data to justify escalation, containment, and improvement decisions

  • Support quality KPIs and dashboards

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
