First Steps Nursing and Therapy – New Braunfels, TX
First Steps Nursing and Therapy is seeking a compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one care for a pediatric patient in the home setting.
Case Details
Patient: 2-year-old male
Care Needs: GJ tube, oxygen
Schedule: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Availability: Full-time, part-time, or PRN
Responsibilities
Provide direct, hands-on care to assigned patient
Assess patient condition and document observations
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies
Monitor and manage GJ tube and oxygen needs
Perform vital signs and ongoing assessments
Communicate changes in condition to supervisor and/or physician
Educate and support family members and caregivers
Complete accurate and timely documentation in EMR system
Requirements
Active Texas RN or LVN license (unencumbered)
Current CPR certification
Reliable transportation
Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, standing, transfers)
Pediatric experience preferred but not required
Training provided (in-office and on-site)
Working Conditions
Provide care in the patient’s home environment
Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
Ability to work flexible schedules and respond to patient needs
May require travel within local service area
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to make timely decisions
