About the Department
The incumbent in this position will supervise a group of four (4) Summer Youth Laborers who will perform routine park custodial and landscape maintenance as well as painting and minor repairs.
$2,000 end of season bonus for those who work through the end of season (8/15/25).
SALARY: Grade 94

RETENTION BONUS NOTICE:
Employees who work through the end of the season will be given a bonus of up to $1000 to be paid in the final paycheck.
EXPECTED DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT:
May 27, 2026 through August 14, 2026
Position Duties
1. Coordinate activities for crew with Maintenance Division of Parks & Recreation.
2. Coordinate work and maintenance/custodial/groundskeeping schedules.
3. Supervise summer youth laborers, including assigning work, and ensuring safe and effective operations.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license. Must meet insurance standards and maintain insurability under the Borough's insurance program. If personal automobile is used for Borough business, proof of automobile insurance at statutory limits must be provided. (A CURRENT COPY OF DRIVING RECORD WILL BE REQUIRED UPON REQUEST)
3. Demonstrated experience in routine maintenance procedures.
4. Demonstrated supervisory experience; prefer experience supervising youth.
5. Available to work weekends, holidays, and irregular work shifts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Ability to coordinate workloads and assign tasks.
OTHER
1. This position requires a criminal background investigation and fingerprinting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervisor responsibilities: directs work flow of permanent/temporary/seasonal/ volunteers during summer months; experiences minor problems daily and occasional major ones that must be resolved on own initiative with little immediate supervision; the consequences of error, carelessness or mistaken judgment require significant effort to recover.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Shop area where conditions are pleasant; varied outdoor work sites with disagreeable conditions with undesirable elements or factors on a somewhat continuous basis; up to 3/4 of time is spent standing, or walking; major accident/hazard risk; requires sustained periods of heavy lifting, pushing or pulling (50+ lbs.).
