Agentic AI & Clinical Workflow Orchestration
Location: India
We are building a next-generation agentic AI orchestration platform that powers intelligent, compliant, human-in-the-loop workflows across Utilization Management (UM), Care Management (CM), Population Health, and government healthcare programs.
As the AI Product Manager for Symphony, you are accountable not only for AI product vision and delivery, but also for rigorous product execution. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Jira-based delivery, capacity-driven roadmapping, and disciplined backlog management in a complex, regulated environment.
This is a builder/operator role. You will translate strategy into executable plans, break ambiguity into epics and stories, and ensure teams are working against a realistic, capacity-constrained roadmap - not aspirational timelines.
This role sits at the intersection of:
- Agentic AI orchestration & decision pipelines
- Capacity-based product planning & delivery governance
- Clinical and administrative workflows (UM/CM as flagship use cases)
- Human-in-the-loop design, explainability, and auditability
- Cloud-native, API-driven platform engineering
1. AI Product Strategy & Platform Roadmap Ownership
- Own the end-to-end product roadmap for Symphony, balancing:
- Platform investments vs. product use cases
- AI innovation vs. regulatory and delivery constraints
- Near-term UM/CM needs vs. long-term platform scalability
- Build and maintain a capacity-driven roadmap grounded in:
- Actual team velocity and skill mix
- Dependency mapping across AI, platform, data, and UX teams
- Release gating (Alpha → Beta → GA)
- Partner with Engineering, AI, Architecture, and Delivery to ensure roadmap commitments are credible, sequenced, and defensible.
- Define and productize agentic AI patterns, including:
- Intake & enrichment agents
- Validation & policy interpretation agents
- Decision-support and recommendation agents
- Clinical triage and next-best-action agents
- Translate AI concepts into clear epics, stories, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute.
- Define agent boundaries, escalation paths, confidence thresholds, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Ensure AI behaviors are deterministic where required and explainable by design.
This role requires expert-level proficiency with Jira as the system of record for product delivery. You will:
- Own the Jira product structure, including:
- Product-level epics aligned to roadmap themes
- Clear decomposition from epics → stories → tasks
- Well-defined acceptance criteria and definition of done
- Lead backlog management across multiple teams by:
- Maintaining a continuously groomed, prioritized backlog
- Ensuring stories are ready ahead of sprint planning
- Preventing backlog bloat and unbounded work
- Drive capacity-aware planning, including:
- Velocity-based forecasting
- Explicit tradeoff decisions when scope exceeds capacity
- Transparent communication of delivery risks and constraints
- Partner with Engineering Managers and Delivery leads to:
- Support sprint planning and PI planning (if applicable)
- Track progress, blockers, and spillover
- Adjust plans based on real delivery data - not optimism
- Design AI-enabled workflows that augment clinical and operational users, not overwhelm them.
- Ensure Symphony supports:
- Transparent reasoning trails
- Reviewer override and escalation mechanisms
- Configurable confidence thresholds
- Audit-ready decision artifacts
- Define and track success metrics such as:
- Automation rate vs. accuracy
- Touches per case
- Time-to-decision
- Reviewer trust and adoption
- Ensure Symphony is built as a reusable AI platform, not a collection of one-off workflows.
- Define platform capabilities that support:
- Configuration over customization
- Multi-tenant and client-specific rules
- Modular agent composition and orchestration
- Partner with Architecture to enforce clean separation between:
- AI reasoning
- Workflow orchestration
- Policy, rules, and configuration
You will work closely with:
- AI Engineering & Applied ML teams
- Symphony Orchestration & Platform Engineering
- Product Engineering & Architecture
- Clinical SMEs & Medical Directors
- Data & Interoperability teams (FHIR, HL7, claims)
- Security, Compliance, and Regulatory stakeholders
Experience
- 8–12+ years of product management experience.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex platforms or workflow products.
- Significant hands-on experience with:
- Jira (advanced usage, not basic ticketing)
- Capacity-driven roadmaps and delivery planning
- Epic and backlog decomposition at scale
- Experience working closely with engineering teams in Agile or hybrid Agile environments.
- Expert in Jira-based product execution and backlog management.
- Strong PRD writing, epic definition, and story decomposition skills.
- Ability to translate AI capabilities into shippable product increments.
- Strong understanding of:
- Agile delivery mechanics
- Velocity, capacity, and dependency management
- API- and microservices-based architectures
- Comfortable working with AI/ML teams without requiring hands-on model development.
- Execution-oriented product leader who values delivery credibility.
- Comfortable saying "no" or "not yet" based on capacity and risk.
- Systems thinker with strong operational discipline.
- Thrives in ambiguity but insists on clarity in Jira.
- Trusted partner to Engineering, not an external demander.
- A capacity-driven, Jira-backed Symphony roadmap trusted by Engineering and Leadership.
- Predictable delivery against committed milestones.
- High-quality epics and stories that reduce rework and ambiguity.
- Scalable AI agent reuse across UM/CM workflows.
- Strong adoption of Symphony by clinical and operational users.
