The PLV Chemistry department is searching for a Student Lab Technician to support the department's Lab Services and Safety Manager
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Preparation of chemical reagents, supplies, and equipment for lab experiments
- Perform routine lab maintenance, including washing glassware
- Set up labs for experiments, as well as bringing items such as DI water, gloves, paper towels, and waste containers
- Cleaning up labs after the experiments, returning chemicals to the storage location
- Updating the inventory
- Other duties as needed
Requirements
- Student Assistant/Lab Technician should have completed General or Organic Chemistry classes.
- Possess basic laboratory skills, including safety rules and regulations.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team along with proper management of time is essential for this position.
- Safety training will be provided.
