Description

The PLV Chemistry department is searching for a Student Lab Technician to support the department's Lab Services and Safety Manager

 

Position Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Preparation of chemical reagents, supplies, and equipment for lab experiments
  • Perform routine lab maintenance, including washing glassware
  • Set up labs for experiments, as well as bringing items such as DI water, gloves, paper towels, and waste containers
  • Cleaning up labs after the experiments, returning chemicals to the storage location
  • Updating the inventory
  • Other duties as needed

 

Requirements

  • Student Assistant/Lab Technician should have completed General or Organic Chemistry classes.
  •  Possess basic laboratory skills, including safety rules and regulations. 
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team along with proper management of time is essential for this position. 
  • Safety training will be provided.
