Who we are looking for
This position will be responsible for software development and software delivery to agreed timescales working with both business groups and internal IT organizations. Focus will be on cloud migrations, tech obsolescence, risk & compliance, and management of team resources to deliver associated solutions. Your goal will be to develop a good working relationship with the UK & Ireland business teams to meet their technology requirements to strengthen and grow the business.
What you will be responsible for
As Application Development Lead, you will
Manage software development and delivery for UK and Ireland business groups being part of the larger software engineering organization spanning North America, EMEA and APAC.
Own the ZILO application platform across production, UAT, and development environments
Manage relationship with business stakeholders (Operations, Transfer Agency, Compliance, and ZILO vendors)
Ability to transfer business requirements into technical solutions.
Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams and third-party vendors.
work with a global team of software developers, QA engineers and business stakeholders
develop new and maintain existing applications.
contribute code, perform code reviews, and provide training to junior team members.
participate in discussions, planning, code release activities.
Work closely with the Business/Product teams on requirements analysis, implementation estimates, and design.
provide hands-on real-time support for live production systems to ensure business continuity, help resolve processing issues, provide support for data conversions and onboarding.
help migrate existing services or develop new applications for public cloud platforms.
You will be expected to:
contribute independently and collaboratively.
interpret domain (financial processing) requirements, review business requirements for quality, and come up with technical solutions ranging from small fixes to feature implementations across diverse tech stacks.
reverse-engineer functional specifications from existing code and relate existing architecture to business domain functionality.
Understand the business processes supported by the application.
actively participate in the ongoing enhancement of supported applications; proactively identify critical issues and risks; troubleshoot and resolve issues within current software.
Work in a fast-paced agile team environment.
comply with standards and regulations established by both internal and external organizational governance;
Be confident in making technical decisions independently and taking initiatives to make a positive contribution to the overall project stream.
You and your teams will partner with our product team, business operations team, technology infrastructure teams, risk team, compliance teams, and many others to provide IT solutions and thought leadership.
You will be responsible for partnering with our wider global technology organization to propose technical solutions, implementation plans, and technical financial models to support the successful operations of current and new clients.
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role
Strong understanding of Financial Services. Knowledge of the Fund Accounting, Fund Administration and Servicing along with Transfer Agency is a strong plus.
Effective communication and the ability to work as a collaborator within a global team are essential.
Expertise problem management and problem solving.
The ability to proactively identify issues and risks to be resolved in a timely manner is crucial.
Outstanding software development and delivery skills.
Ability to support both vendor applications hosted internally and externally as well as in-house developed applications.
Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, .NET, JAVA as well as Agile methodology, JIRA, AWS, and Azure
Experience developing on public cloud environment and/or experience with migration to a public cloud environment is a strong plus.

Bachelor’s degree
Five years + of experience in software development and delivery
