Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASL and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. You will be responsible for teaching ASL to students 8th-12 grade and skill levels, promoting effective communication and cultural understanding within the Deaf community.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging ASL lesson plans tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of students.
- Teach students the fundamentals of ASL, including vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills.
- Create a supportive and interactive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Organize and participate in community events or workshops to promote ASL and Deaf culture.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate ASL into the broader curriculum.
- Stay updated on best practices in ASL education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Requirements

- Professional Educator's License with appropriate endorsements to teach ASL from 8th grade through High School.

-Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong understanding of Deaf culture.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in ASL or a related field, is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a positive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as required.
