Fabric Cutting Technician (Production Team)

Sam Moore Furniture, part of Hooker Furnishings, is looking to add a Fabric Cutting Technician to our production team. With over a century of industry experience, Hooker Furnishings is a leader in designing and sourcing home furnishings across residential and commercial markets.

Position Overview

This position plays a key role in preparing materials for production by cutting fabric to precise specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment using both manual and automated equipment.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and move fabric rolls to appropriate workstations for processing

  • Interpret work orders and pattern information to determine cutting requirements

  • Input job details into production systems with accuracy

  • Cut materials using various cutting machines while maintaining quality standards

  • Organize, tag, and stage cut pieces for the next phase of production

  • Scan and verify materials using handheld devices

  • Perform routine equipment upkeep, such as blade changes and minor adjustments

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace

  • Support other team activities as needed

  • Comfortable working around machinery and learning new equipment

  • Basic math skills and ability to work with measurements and production data

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive approach

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of fabric rolls

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in manufacturing, production, or industrial settings

  • Experience handling textiles or upholstery materials

  • Familiarity with machine setup, maintenance, or troubleshooting
