Job Description

The Technical Marketing Engineer will create unique technical content that reflects current and future technical trends in the electronics industry, on topics such as electronic components, electronic product development, hardware projects, design tools, and technology developments. For this the incumbent will have the freedom to explore new topics, design tools, products, suppliers and technology partners, to ensure Mouser retains a leading position in creating and sharing high value technical content & resources to its target audience.

The incumbent will identify and engage with appropriate information sources in order to maintain their own technical, industry and regional knowledge and draw upon this to produce technical content that informs and inspires the target audience.

Will provide support to the Marketing team in APAC and ensure the content produced is accurate, timely and relevant.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for conceiving, creating and developing technical content for deployment across Mouser’s marketing assets including: supplier and product microsites, application and technology pages, product advertisements and other marketing materials such as video, technical articles, hardware projects, product guides and reviews.
  • Researches, reviews, and subscribes to suppliers’ new product and technology announcements. Working with Supplier Marketing, engages technical resources at suppliers to understand forthcoming product developments and develop relevant marketing. Actively pursues information on electronics industry trends and technology.
  • Supports and creates written content on all direct customer communication, both electronic and print. Amend content to maximize relevance in respective target region and/or country.
  • Works closely with Global and Regional marketing teams to maximize the impact of technical content by ensuring it is deployed through all appropriate, available channels.
  • Develops and delivers training activities for internal and external customers using a range of media and on a range of topics: Suppliers & Products, Design Tools, Development tools. May include webinars, workshops, student training programs, etc.
  • Supports trade shows, supplier events, conferences, seminars and the like by developing the technical content for use at such events. Develops in-house, or with external partners, a range of technology demos for use at such events.
  • Deploys effective project management strategies to ensure projects meet their objectives, are delivered on time and progress can easily be tracked
  • Works with Internet Business to improve SEO by improving technical content and the use of keywords, based on product and technologies.
  • Supports and participates in company total quality process, establishes and maintains effective relationships with business associates, represents the company in a professional manner and maintains confidentiality.

  • Able to work independently to create unique hardware projects, including required software/firmware/programming
  • Fluent written and verbal English and local language skills; excellent verbal and non-verbal communication; able to communicate with people at all levels; Able to interface directly with business contacts and represent the company in a professional way.
  • Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization; willing to share and spread knowledge and expertise.
  • Creative writing, proofreading and editing skills. Working knowledge of effective layout and graphic presentations.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple departmental activities.
  • Detailed and thorough in work habits with multi-tasking ability.
  • Analyzes impact of decisions before execution.

  • PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other software.

  • Team subject matter expert.

  • Degree from 4 year College/University or above in Electronics. Must have extensive knowledge of the electronic component industry.
  • Web content creation is highly desirable. Must be able to translate technical content from local into English Language.
  • 6+ years  in creative or technical writing in a technology industry experience required.
  • Internal candidates:
    • Experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
    • Minimum Highly Effective performance in current role.
