Job Description

SUMMARY   

The Technical Business Analyst supports the design and development of RENFROE Engineering applications by acting as a facilitator between business departments and Engineering solution developers. You will be a key source of knowledge for the functional and technical behavior of RENFROE business processes and information systems.  

As a member of the Engineering team, you will be a valuable part of the success of company initiatives through a clear understanding and articulation of business requirements. You will participate in many cycles of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including project/sprint planning, user story development, and user acceptance testing. You will also have an important role in the development and triage of internal customer support issues.  

The Technical Business Analyst will also monitor and manage the Engineering Help Desk queue, ensuring Level 1 support tickets are promptly acknowledged, accurately updated, and appropriately escalated to maintain service quality and response time SLAs.

This position requires strong technical acumen, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively recommend and implement modern technology solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and maintain a functional working knowledge of RENFROE software applications and key business processes  
  • Recommend process and technology solutions for business problems  
  • Author functional documentation (epics, user stories) for complex software systems  
  • Plan and guide User Acceptance Testing for software releases  
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements and objectives  
  • Organize and present information used for development team metrics  
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings  
  • Enforce SDLC methodology and project standards  
  • Encourage innovation and continuous process improvement  
  • Foster high levels of user satisfaction by consistently setting and meeting expectations  
  • Monitor and manage the Engineering Help Desk queue to ensure timely response and resolution of Level 1 support tickets.
  • Track ticket trends and recurring issues to identify opportunities for process or system improvement.
  • Coordinate with development and support teams to ensure proper escalation and communication of customer issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation within the help desk system.
  • Support the management team in the completion of corporate strategic objectives  

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or related field.  

  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in business analysis or a related field.  

  • Strong understanding of contemporary software/system design principles as well as major business software application types.  

  • Strong experience working with functional and technical project artifacts such as: Requirements Definitions, Process Definitions, User Interface Design, Technical Interface Specifications, and Automated Test Scripts 

  • Experience in workflow management and process automation.  

  • Experience with mobile and web application development is preferred.  

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills  

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.  

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
