The City of Marysville is seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join the senior management team to serve as City Engineer. The City Engineer acts as the municipality’s primary technical authority for infrastructure, providing vision and oversight for the Engineering Department. This role balances technical management with the supervision of personnel, capital budgets, and public infrastructure. As an at-will executive position appointed by the City Manager, the City Engineer is central to the city’s long-term physical and economic development.
Position Duties
Serves as the primary technical advisor to the City Manager and City Council, directing Engineering Department staff to align infrastructure with the City’s Strategic Plan and Master Plans.
Leads the planning, prioritization, and execution of the City’s annual multi-million dollar Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and infrastructure expansion projects.
Oversees the design, review, and construction of public improvements (whether publicly or privately funded) while providing expert guidance on community planning and land development.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction of public infrastructure, and municipal budgeting. They must demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences and effectively manage diverse teams.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Licensure: Must possess a valid license to practice as a registered Professional Engineer (PE) issued by the State of Ohio.
Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering design, public capital projects, and private land development.
