Great Salt Bay is  looking for a dedicated and flexible Special Education Teacher to join our behavior program beginning in the 2026-27 school year.  We are a team that enjoys working together and having fun, while remaining deeply committed to the success and growth of our students.


 


 About the Role:  


This position is based at  Great Salt Bay School and involves working with a diverse group of students in grades  Pre K through 8. We  are looking for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment. The majority of our students are supported in inclusive settings, and you will play a key role in ensuring their success within the general education framework.


 


Key Details:  


 


      Collaborative Environment:   You will work alongside the school’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and numerous paraprofessionals  to support student needs.


      Student Support:   Responsibilities include developing and implementing  positive behavior support plans  and providing  Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)  .


      Service Delivery:   Support is provided primarily in inclusive settings, with some   pull    out services   as described by each individual child’s IEP plan.


 


  Qualifications:  


    Maine Department of Education Special Education Certification (282 or equivalent).


    Experience or strong interest in behavior intervention and positive support strategies.


   A passion for working with students from Pre K through middle school and a desire to be part of a supportive, success oriented team.
