Job Description
- We are seeking to hire an experienced Electronics Technician to join our team. If you are a passionate self-starter, Smart Structures is a great company for you. In this role, you will work with electronic systems, devices, and components in several ways. For example, you will be responsible for diagnosing problems in electronics equipment and repairing them.
- Build various types of sensors and control systems.
- You will also be required to perform field installations and complete field installation reports.
Responsibilities:
- Follow the manufacturing procedures with precise detail.
- Trouble shoot defective assemblies and develop the process to eliminate defects.
- Solder sensors and wires to produce quality assemblies.
- Inspect parts and assemblies for defects.
- Install and debug sensor packs and cables in the field.
- Manage the receiving of deliveries and stocking.
- Manage the packaging of deliveries and shipping.
- Identify electrical problems using a variety of test equipment.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Replace conduit and wiring as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Soldering and component removal/replacement experience.
- Basic electronics knowledge.
- Applicant must have basic computer skills, Word and Excel.
- Applicant must be punctual and detail oriented.
- Valid driver's license.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Electronics Training from a technical college.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
