Become an employee-owner of a growing engineering and consulting firm where we strive to provide a culture of support and opportunities. Our success is driven by our employee-owners, and we're excited to have you be a part of it.

The Impact You’ll Have:

As our Director of Marketing, you will serve as Alliant’s senior marketing leader, responsible for defining and executing firmwide marketing strategy across all regions, markets, and service lines. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team, this role carries firmwide-level responsibility for how Alliant positions itself, competes, and grows.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends strategy with execution. You will lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary marketing team, establish clear priorities and standards, and ensure marketing efforts directly support business development, client relationships, and long-range firm goals. Success in this role requires professional services experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to operate confidently at both the executive and operational levels.

Responsibilities:

Firmwide Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and lead Alliant’s long-term marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate vision, strategic plan, and regional business plans
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors on marketing, brand, and market positioning
  • Translate business strategy into actionable marketing plans with measurable outcomes

Brand, Positioning & Market Growth

  • Own and evolve Alliant’s brand identity, voice, and market positioning across all offices and service areas
  • Lead market research, competitive analysis, and opportunity assessment to support new markets, services, and geographic expansion consistent with the strategic plan
  • Oversee public relations, corporate communications, major announcements, strategic hires, and firmwide campaigns

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team across all offices and regions
  • Establish clear roles, expectations, workflows, and accountability for marketing staff
  • Manage marketing budgets, resources, and priorities to maximize return on investment

Digital, Content & Communications

  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for Alliant’s digital marketing strategy, including website, social media, and content platforms, ensuring alignment with firmwide brand, business development, and growth objectives.
  • Set performance metrics (KPIs) and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives

Industry Presence & Advocacy

  • Represent Alliant at professional organizations, conferences, and industry events
  • Elevate the firm’s visibility and thought leadership within the A/E/C industry

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 15 years of progressive marketing experience, with significant leadership responsibility. Extensive experience in both public- and private-sector professional services, ideally within engineering, architecture, construction, or related consulting industries
  • Proven track record of leading firmwide marketing strategy across multiple offices or regions. Demonstrated ability to operate at the executive level, influence senior leadership, and present to Boards of Directors
  • Strong understanding of business development, proposal strategy, and client-driven marketing. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of professional services and the A/E/C industry, including public and private clients, business development models, and market trends
  • Experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing marketing teams
  • Proficient with CRM systems, digital marketing platforms, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
