School Culture Support Professional (SCSP)

Job Description:
PVPA has an opportunity for a School Culture Support Professional for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who collaborates effectively with colleagues and understands the varied needs of middle school students.
The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in building a positive school culture, rapport with students, facilitating community-building circles, collaborating with classroom teachers, and working with the School Culture Team to execute student support plans and respond to teachers' requests for support to assist with student co-regulation and re-engaging students back in class after interventions. Experience with and/or interest in learning more about de-escalation strategies, restorative practices, social justice, and arts integration is required. Under the direction of the Dean of Students, you will be responsible for:
- Support student de-escalations using established systems with students as needed in collaboration with teachers and the School Culture Team
- Document all student and staff interactions and create a weekly report summarizing all documentation
- Facilitating community-building and harm-repair circles
- Working with the Dean of Students to address student areas of growth identified by the School Culture Team
- Support students as part of the de-escalation process to complete assignments and prepare to return to class, regulated and having made academic progress.
- Monitoring students' social-emotional needs and concerns and referring them to the School Culture Team and/or Wellness Team
- Actively and consistently communicate with content teachers about student needs and classroom expectations
- Echo those expectations to students during de-escalation efforts to maintain unity and alignment with all staff and school culture values
- Ensure that students follow school and classroom rules
- Maintaining a structured, safe, quiet work environment
- Work with the Wellness Team to make sure interventions are aligned with individual students’ needs
- Provide Assistance to classroom teachers as designed by the School Culture Team
- Model appropriate, responsible, and culturally responsive behavior and language
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including participation in weekly Collaborative Meeting time with other teachers and the School Culture Team
Qualifications;
The successful candidate will minimally hold a BA degree, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting), and be able to provide evidence of three years of successful prior experience working with students in grades 7 through 12. Acceptable equivalency for a BA degree includes: Associate’s Degree (two years of college) plus two (2) years of related work experience, or four (4) years of related work experience.
Other Information/Instructions:
Salary Range: The base rate is $23.97/hour, annualized $31,042—additional potential for bonus at the end of the fiscal year, as determined by the collectively bargained agreement. The 2025-2026 school year consists of 180 school days, plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a full-time 35-hour workweek.
