Position Overview 

 

ITSC is seeking a General Engineer to provide journeyman-level engineering support for the FORGE program, with a focus on system and segment-level integration. This role proactively identifies and resolves complex integration issues, develops ground integration plans, and recommends solutions to ensure capabilities are delivered within required cost, schedule, and performance constraints. 

 

The General Engineer supports the planning and execution of integration activities, including managing integration events and schedules, developing and executing test plans and procedures, and ensuring agile deliveries do not negatively impact established baselines. The role also provides subject matter expertise supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation and facilitates integration-related working groups across stakeholders 

 

Impact of the Role 

 The General Engineer directly impacts the successful delivery and sustainment of FORGE capabilities by reducing integration risk, maintaining technical baselines, and ensuring secure, well-coordinated system integration. This role enables timely, compliant delivery of mission capabilities while supporting cybersecurity and enterprise alignment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Proactively identify and resolve complex integration issues across the FORGE program
  • Develop and maintain ground integration plans and recommended integration solutions 
  • Support planning and execution of system- and segment-level integration tasks 
  • Manage integration events, schedules, and coordination activities 
  • Develop test plans and procedures and execute tests to validate integration outcomes 
  • Ensure agile deliveries do not negatively impact established technical baselines 
  • Provide subject matter expertise to resolve integration deficiencies 
  • Support RMF implementation for cybersecurity compliance 
  • Facilitate and participate in integration-related working groups with government and contractor stakeholders 

 

Requirements

  •  

Required Knowledge & Technical Expertise 

 

  • FORGE program integration concepts 
  • Ground system and enterprise integration 
  • System- and segment-level integration planning and execution 
  • Test planning, procedure development, and test execution 
  • Agile delivery environments and baseline management 
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) for cybersecurity 
  • Integration issue analysis and resolution 
  • Cross-stakeholder coordination and working group facilitation 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Minimum of 14 years of relevant experience supporting DoD, space, or mission system integration efforts 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline 
  • Demonstrated experience resolving complex integration challenges 
  • Proven ability to support integration planning, execution, and test activities 
  • Experience supporting RMF cybersecurity activities 
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
