St. James Parish Government is hiring an ARC Supervisor in the Department of Human Services.
job function: This
is an administrative level position with responsibility for assisting in the
planning, monitoring, and organizing services for the ARC clients in St. James
Parish. Position will have the ability to
direct and facilitate the provisions of services in accordance with Federal,
State, and Parish laws, regulations, and policies. This position is classified
as essential during declared emergencies or natural disasters and exempt
according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A.
Specific:
1. Communicate
to the clients, their families/caretakers, and the public the intent, purpose,
and functions of the St. James Arc.
2. Recruit
potential clients.
3. Plan,
organize, supervise, and communicate the provision of services to the clients
of the ARC.
4. Communicate
goals and objectives for serving clients in accordance with their plans.
5. Recruit
and advise the hiring of staff.
6. Communicate
expectations for job performance of DSPs, and supervise services provided to
clients on a systematic basis.
7. Evaluate
performance of DSPs on an annual basis.
8. Provide
and/ or arrange training for staff in areas of need.
9. Ensure
timely record-keeping and reporting of Medicaid services and updating of client
records.
10. Provide services and file claims
according to Medicaid dictates.
11. Submit claims for funding on a timely
basis.
12. Complete required reports/grants for
funding within timelines, ie., United Way,
13. Conduct an aggressive membership drive
on an annual basis.
14. Actively pursue
grant funding / donations
for the continued operation of the
program.
15. Maintain budgetary control and
communicate issue, policy needs, center/facility and needs to the Director of
Human Resources, President and Executive Board of the ARC.
16. Maintain open lines of communication
with the support staff, transportation providers, support volunteers, state and
parish agencies, and clients and their families/caretakers.
B.
General
1. Arrive
at work prior to the arrival of the first client.
2. Remain
at work until the dismissal of all clients, and the completion of daily record
keeping requirements.
3. Maintain
professional demeanor in dress and action when dealings with clients, staff,
Executive Board Members, community partners, and family/ caregivers.
4. Maintain
confidentiality with all client and personnel issues / information.
5. Refrain
from interaction with social media regarding the ARC.
6. Refrain
from engaging in personal electronic communications during work hours.
7. Follow
the appropriate chain of command in dealing with clients and staff. 8.
Represent the St. James ARC with respect when in community interaction.
8. Seek
and attend professional development opportunities; attend required training.
9. Maintain
a safe, clean, inviting environment for the clients and staff.
10. Maintain appropriate personal hygiene
of the clients.
11. Address and respond to clients with
respect and concern.
12. Perform all other job responsibilities
assigned by the President / Executive Board.
QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS: Must have good public relations and communication skills. Ability
to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts to groups. Must
have basic computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication. Must
have a valid LA Class “D” driver’s license.
EDUCATION
AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college. Understand units
of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING
ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
OTHER
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: To perform this
job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software.
