Oneida Professional Services (OPS) is actively seeking a highly motivated, full-time Lead Instructor for the FAA Corporate Training Solutions Division.

Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC)

*This position is contingent on the award of a federal contract.

Compensation: $41.48 / Hour

Position Summary

The Lead Instructor serves as both a senior instructional staff member and the on-site lead responsible for ensuring high-quality delivery, coordination, and oversight of all contract training operations within the FAA Corporate Training Solutions Division at MMAC. This position combines teaching responsibilities with leadership and administrative oversight to ensure compliance with all contractual, technical, and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Instructional Duties

  • Deliver, develop, and revise FAA-approved instructional courses consistent with the customer�s mission and curriculum requirements.
  • Conduct classroom instruction through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory exercises to assess student proficiency.
  • Administer classroom management activities, including student orientations, attendance, grade reporting, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and recommend course improvements and additional classroom resources to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Ensure all lesson plans, materials, and assessments align with FAA standards and approved content.
  • Maintain classroom and lab readiness, assisting with equipment updates, repairs, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with FAA subject matter experts (SMEs) in revising and maintaining training materials.

Leadership & Oversight Duties

  • Plan, direct, and execute all instructor and training operations in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Enforce and oversee the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for all deliverables as outlined in Schedule B.
  • Supervise, guide, and evaluate contract instructional staff, ensuring compliance with FAA expectations and long-range training objectives.
  • Serve as the Contractor�s on-site representative to the FAA Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer�s Representative (COR).
  • Communicate performance expectations and areas of accountability to both company and FAA counterparts.
  • Lead by example in promoting effective employee relations, coaching, and professional development among instructional personnel.
  • Resolve personnel and operational challenges to maintain a cohesive and high-performing instructional team.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements related to cost control, safety, quality, and timely delivery of all training deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support for time accounting, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with FAA stakeholders to report program status, gather customer feedback, and propose process improvements for quality and timeliness.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education

Candidate must meet at least one of the following:

  • Bachelor�s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related discipline; or
  • Government, private sector, or military-specific training on systems of similar technical complexity.

Experience

At least five (5) years of experience in a combination of the following:

  • Technical: Government or industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Information Technology, or Logistics.
  • Instructional: Experience teaching or developing technical training in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Systems, or Logistics environments.

Specialized Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people, manage change, and achieve measurable results.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience managing projects, schedules, and budgets.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in standard office and instructional technology tools (Microsoft Office Suite, LMS platforms, etc.).

Certification

  • No instructor certification is required.
  • Must be capable of delivering instruction using FAA-provided and authorized materials only (lesson plans, lab guides, handouts, equipment, etc.).

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation and meet FAA security requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically, as required, for training support or coordination meetings.
