Job Description

Lewis Central Community School District is looking for a High School Assistant Show Choir Director for the 2026-27 School Year. This activities expected time commitment for working is September-March.  Some additional time may be required outside of this timeframe and will be determined and communicated by the Activities Director. 


 


Job Summary: 


 


Under the general direction of the Activities Director, an Assistant Show Choir Director's primary responsibilities is to lead and develop students in extra-curricular, and in some instances, co-curricular activities to help achieve both individual and program success.


 


Essential Functions



  • Develop and implement effective program that in some assignments focus on skill development, teamwork, and well-rounded students.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants, fostering their personal and extra-curricular growth.

  • Plan and execute practice sessions as necessary.

  • Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.

  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.

  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as requested.

  • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state policies.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding  activities, schedules, and expectations.

  • Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.

  • Attend, support and supervise students at competitions, performances, and other related events. 


Travel Requirements:


 


Depending on the assignment, this position may be required to travel to all related events and in some instance operate a school vehicle to transport student-participants to events.
