    Chappaqua CSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educational leader to serve in the anticipated probationary 12-month administrative position of Director of Pre-K and Elementary Education beginning July 1, 2026. 

    Under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, this educational leader will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Lead elementary curriculum development and evaluation.
    • Support the development of a standards-based curriculum in all content areas K-6.
    • Coordinate and implement staff development for K-6.
    • Coordinate the elementary instructional program in a manner consistent with district goals and objectives.
    • Review, research, prepare, and disseminate information pertaining to trends in curriculum development and intervention programs.
    • Manage K-6 assessment systems.
    • Analyze, report, and interpret student performance data and make recommendations for instructional improvement.
    • Coordinate the process of textbook evaluation, selection, and adoption at the elementary level.
    • Work with elementary principals in the continuing evaluation of programs to improve student achievement.
    • Communicate the elementary curriculum, its philosophy, goals, and objectives to the BOE, administration, staff, and general public.
    • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback/assistance to teachers and administrators to plan for next steps and professional development and curricular adjustments.
    • Lead special projects aligned with the district strategic plan.


    Qualifications Profile:

    • Required: NYS SDL Certification
    • Successful elementary teaching experience
    • Experience as a building leader

    Highly Competitive Salary between $195,000 and $205,000 reflective of experience.
