POSITION TITLE:   School Counselor (190 Days) for the 2026-2027 School Year

START DATE:      July 27, 2026

                           

JOB DESCRIPTION:   Provide individual counseling and group guidance to help students cope effectively with personal, social, academic, career, and family concerns.  Consult with parents, teachers, administrators and supporting agencies concerning the needs and abilities of students.  Update and maintain confidential student records.  Help students attain an optimum level of personal and social adjustment.   Support the philosophy and mission of the Bartow County School System.  Maintain prompt and regular attendance.  Other duties as assigned.   

 

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING:  Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission certificate in School Counseling.

 

SKILLS:   Ability and knowledge to effectively work as a counselor at any school level. Proficient planning, organizational and communication skills – oral & written

 

EXPERIENCE:  No previous experience required.
