Job Description

Position Overview

The Safety Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Safety department. This can be a fast-paced position at times and requires good time management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. This person must be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy, customer service oriented and responsive to employee and management requests.

  • This is a non-exempt, hourly position. Pay commensurate with experience (Typical range is $27-$30/hr.).
  • Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Occasionally may need to provide administrative coverage and address emergencies on weekends and after hours.
  • Position located in North Salt Lake, UT (option to work from home much of the time)


Essential Job Functions

  • Incident tracking
  • Drug and background screening
  • Maintaining employee driver and training files
  • Assisting with employee recruiting, retention and training
  • Coordinating new hire classes
  • Tracking field inspection corrective actions
  • Managing client online training for employees
  • Maintaining training and incident reporting websites
  • Ordering safety supplies
  • Assisting with annual company-wide in person training event
  • Other company administrative duties as needed


Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Safety/HR experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment with limited supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong data entry and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel for department/company training meetings (normally 1-2 times/year)
