The College of Law’s Administrative Services Division is hiring for a receptionist. This is a full-time staff position. This position provides general office support with a variety of administrative activities and related tasks. This position serves as a receptionist for deans, faculty, and administrative staff for the College of Law. This position manages a multi-line message center; receives and directs incoming calls; greets students, faculty, staff, and other patrons; receives and routes certified mail packages and other materials for faculty, staff, and students; answers general inquiries and directs visitors to appropriate business offices within the Law School and University.

Essential job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for faculty and administrative staff and manages the multi-line telephone system.

  • Grants access to permitted visitors for special area parking.

  • Receives and routes certified mail packages and other materials for faculty, staff, and students.

  • Coordinates and maintains tracking system for pick-up and delivery of express mail packages.

  • Sorts mail and delivers packages. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

  • Organizes and keeps supplies stocked for copy rooms and kitchens.

  • Distributes monthly departmental telephone statements.

  • Maintains general security by following departmental procedures and controlling visitor access.

  • Position may, on occasion, be required to arrive early or remain late for special events.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and one year of receptionist or customer service experience.

Preferred Hiring Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Professional demeanor and appearance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
