IT Infrastructure & Data Center Manager


Location


Akurdi, Pune


Role Summary


Own and manage IT infrastructure for automotive R&D, covering on‑prem and cloud environments, data center operations, networks, security, and vendor/asset management to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable services for engineering and business applications.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage day-to-day data center and infrastructure operations: server/workstation setup, configurations, monitoring, backups, and capacity planning.

  • Design and implement infrastructure architectures across on‑prem and cloud/hybrid environments for high-availability, high-performance workloads.

  • Oversee network management (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, routing/switching) and coordinate VAPT and security remediation.

  • Administer Microsoft Windows and Linux ecosystems and support database platforms (Oracle/SQL Server) from an infrastructure perspective.

  • Drive IT asset and license management across hardware and a broad software portfolio; ensure vendor audit and license compliance.

  • Manage infrastructure and software vendors/partners, SLAs, renewals, and performance, ensuring alignment with R&D needs.

  • Define and improve IT support and security processes (incident, change, backup/DR, audit readiness) for R&D environments.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field; relevant certifications preferred.

  • Around 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure and data center operations, preferably supporting engineering/R&D or manufacturing environments.


Skills & Competencies



  • Strong expertise in servers, workstations, storage, networks, and OS (Windows/Linux).

  • Good understanding of VAPT, IT security, and compliance.

  • Sound knowledge of IT asset and license management, and vendor/partner management.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to work effectively with R&D leaders and project teams.
