Experienced Plumber

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing, a local mechanical contractor, is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as an Experienced Plumber. Candidates must have outstanding interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, be detailed oriented, computer literate, and possess problem-solving skills.

The Plumber will work under the supervision of the Department Manager. Their primary responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential and commercial settings. This involves tasks such as diagnosing plumbing issues, replacing fixtures, installing pipes, clearing drain blockages, and performing preventative maintenance. Additionally, the Plumber often oversees and trains apprentice plumbers, ensuring all work adheres to local plumbing codes and safety regulations.

Job Functions

  • Installing new plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and appliances, as well as repairing leaks, clogged drains, and malfunctioning plumbing components.
  • Diagnosing plumbing problems by identifying the source of leaks, blockages, or other issues.
  • Performing routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems and ensure proper functionality.
  • Following local plumbing codes and regulations when installing and repairing systems.
  • Interacting with clients to understand their needs, explaining repair options, and providing estimates.
  • Mentoring and supervising apprentice plumbers, teaching them proper techniques and safety procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed, including materials used and service calls.
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports related to assigned activities.
  • Support working foremen in maintaining accurate project documentation, including proper take offs, as-builts and Service Titan documentation.
  • Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficient in using various plumbing tools and equipment, including pipe cutters, wrenches, soldering tools, drain snakes, and sewer cameras.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and gas lines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and perform demanding tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of Plumbing related experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience.
  • Able to solve problems and be proactive.
  • Able to hold employees accountable.
  • Valid Driver's license required.
