Position Summary

Job duties will include leading efforts to engage communities and environmental health research and research that advances human health, especially among disproportionately impacted populations. Dr. Lopez will also support new and ongoing research and work with researchers and communities. He will work on creating and co-planning with communities and stakeholders and researchers plans for mitigating environmental health negative impacts and increasing the well-being of individuals in New Mexico communities, create materials based on community needs and best practices, organize community-academic meetings related to environmental health, and disseminate communication and best practices of community engagement environmental health work.
He will supervise other staff members and students, travel to communities in New Mexico and the four corners, attend relevant conferences, and present at different community and academic events. He will oversee the creation of communication materials about environmental health that meet communities' needs and values Using different platforms such as social media, print, videos, digital stories, etcetera. Dr. Lopez will lead current ongoing CEC efforts and will develop new initiatives that are consistent with the CEC core values, strategic planning, and mission.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
