The successful Casework lead is a meticulous problem solver with an appreciation for fine details and quality work.  The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands while also guiding and supporting a team to achieve high standards of craftsmanship and productivity.  This individual thrives in both independent and collaborative, every-changing work environments. The ability to deliver to deadlines will be critical in the success of this role. A detail-oriented, safety-minded approach – paired with leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills will set this individual apart.

Minimum Requirements:

·         1-5 years of experience in commercial casework production and/or high end finished carpentry experience

·         High mathematical aptitude

·         Ability to work independently

·         Experience with hand and power tools

·         Experience reading architectural shop drawings

 

Preferred:

·         Plastic laminate experience

·         Dowel construction experience

Summary

WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU

Shaw/Stewart is seeking an individual to join our Architectural Millwork Production team. The production team creates custom monumental woodwork, specialty mouldings, and casework for commercial and luxury home projects throughout the Twin Cities. The Casework Lead provides day-to-day direction within the department, ensuring workflows are efficient, priorities are clear, and quality expectations are consistently met. This role serves as a resource for team members, offering training, mentorship, and support while reinforcing safety practices and company standards. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         Training – Onboard and mentor new employees, and provide ongoing feedback to Production Manager for entire team

·         Safety – Ensure team is properly trained and all equipment in the Casework department is operated in accordance with established SOP’s

·         Production Schedule – Assign Work Order tasks and equipment to ensure on-time and on-budget completion.

·         Quality – Ensure casework meets all AWI standards, product is free of defects, and is packaged for safe transport to job sites.

·         Maintenance and Housekeeping - Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment; work with Production Manager to schedule vendor preventative maintenance services.
