Job Description

Provide friendly, excellent service to customers while handling the sale of merchandise in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort gift shop. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:

  • Operates cash register and properly handles all cash or credit transactions
  • Greets customers, offers assistance as customers enter the gift shop, and continues to provide friendly and excellent service throughout the customer’s visit
  • Accurately maintains balance of cash register throughout the shift and at the end of the shift
  • Exchanges funds with the Main Bank as scheduled or needed throughout the shift
  • Keeps accurate records of transactions as outlined in gift shop policy and procedure
  • Provides current and useful information regarding the products available in the gift shop
  • Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers
  • Uses IGNITE service skills to sell and up-sell products in the gift shop and products and events throughout Prairie Band Casino & Resort
  • Inventories and stocks merchandise on set schedule and/or as needed
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company polices in an ethical manner
  • Functions as Telecommunications Service Agent, Front Desk Clerk or RV Park Attendant when assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by Services Supervisor

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience as a cashier or in a cash handling position
  • Ability to be kind, courteous and provide exceptional customer service
  • Willingness to work various shifts and weekends as required
  • Must present a well-groomed professional appearance and maintain uniform/appearance standards set forth in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
  • A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment

 Preferred

  • Prior 10-key and Agilysys experience
  • Prior sales experience

 PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Respond to visual and aural cues
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Able to accurately and quickly process all cash transactions
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust
  • Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
