Job Description

Royal Valley has an openings for food service substitute workers for the current school year.  


 


Hours: 6:00am-2:00pm Monday - Friday following the school calendar.

Job Description


QUALIFICATIONS:            


1)  Minimum of high school diploma.


2)  Demonstrate ability to work with students and adult personnel.


3)  Able to follow work schedules and work independently without direct


      supervision.


4)  Demonstrate knowledge of cooking/baking procedures for large


      groups and use of large kitchen equipment.


 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:         


1)  Able to frequently lift a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally


                                                                              lift over 50 pounds.


2)  Job entails lifting, pushing/pulling equipment and food carts as


      a regular part of the duties.


3)  Able to stand and work for long periods of time on concrete and


      tile floors.


4)  Able to complete repetitious tasks with hands.


5)  Able to operate light equipment.    


 


REPORTS TO:     Kitchen Manager of the serving site


 


JOB GOAL:             To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency,


                                    cleanliness, and warmth.


 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


 



  • Assists in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.

  • Assumes responsibility for seeing to it that during meal service periods the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.

  • Assists in the daily clean up of the kitchen and service areas.

  • Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the kitchen manager.

  • Assumes responsibilities for storage and disposal of unused foods.

  • Regularly attends inservice classes to keep knowledge and skills current.

  • Participate in monthly safety meetings for kitchen staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by kitchen manager or food service director.


 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


 


                  Salary and work year to be determined by the Board.


 


EVALUATION:


 


Performance of this job will be evaluated annually with two evaluations during the first year of employment.
