Specialist Tax Projects

Are you looking for a tax role where you can work on high-impact strategic projects and influence key business decisions?

At Sibelco, you will join our Group Tax team in Bilbao and play a central role in supporting M&A, restructurings and cross-border initiatives, acting as a trusted business partner to finance, legal and leadership teams across the organization.

This is a unique opportunity to combine technical tax expertise with real business exposure, contributing directly to strategic projects while helping shape tax governance, processes and standards at a global level.

Your Impact In this Role

As Specialist Tax Projects, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

M&A, Projects & Structuring

  • Provide tax guidance on acquisitions, divestments, reorganizations and joint ventures
  • Perform tax due diligence and identify risks and opportunities
  • Advise on optimal tax structuring aligned with Group policies
  • Support cross-border initiatives (legal entity rationalization, financing, cash repatriation, etc.)

Pillar 2 & International Tax

  • Assess Pillar 2 implications of transactions and reorganizations
  • Collaborate with Tax Accounting & Reporting on impact analysis

Transfer Pricing Strategy & Governance

  • Support transfer pricing strategy, compliance and operational discussions
  • Contribute to governance, best practices and implementation across the Group

Tax Audit & Advisory Support

  • Support local teams during tax audits
  • Provide guidance on tax technical positions, documentation and risk mitigation

Process, Controls & Governance

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of Group Tax internal controls
  • Support the development of tax policies, standards and governance frameworks
  • Drive process improvements and leverage technology for efficiency

What You Bring to the Table

• Around 6–7 years of experience in international tax, transaction tax or similar roles (ideally Big 4 or multinational environment)
• Strong technical expertise in international tax, M&A tax, structuring, transfer pricing and Pillar 2
• Experience supporting complex, cross-border projects
• Strong analytical skills with a structured, problem-solving mindset
• Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively across functions and geographies
• Proactive, autonomous and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
• Tech-savvy with an interest in process improvement and automation
Fluency in English and Spanish is required; additional languages such as French or Dutch are a plus

About the Role

This position is based in Bilbao (Spain) and is part of the Group Tax organization, reporting to the VP Tax.

You will work closely with central functions such as M&A, Finance, Treasury and Legal, as well as local business teams across different regions.

This role offers strong exposure to strategic decision-making and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of Group Tax processes, controls and governance frameworks.
