Purpose of the Job

 

The Concept Designer will be responsible for creating standout permanent Retail Point of Sale (POS) displays that elevate how beauty, lifestyle and retail brands are represented in-store. You will take bold ideas from initial concept through to final specification, delivering high-impact, brand-led display experiences for global cosmetics and premium FMCG clients.

 

You'll work collaboratively across teams and directly with clients to bring creative visions to life, always with a focus on sustainability, practicality and visual storytelling.

 

This role operates on a blended basis between the local HH Global office, client site(s) and home.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Conceptualize striking retail displays that blend beauty with practicality
  • Respond to creative briefs with clever, commercially aware ideas
  • Design ground-up fixtures and component parts with attention to material, cost, and sustainability
  • Create mood boards, sketches, 3D visuals and presentation decks to communicate design stories
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Structural Engineers and Production teams
  • Pitch and present ideas directly to clients, welcoming feedback
  • Embed sustainability into design thinking (materials, carbon footprint, modularity)
  • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously
  • Contribute to brainstorms and push creative boundaries in the retail space

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

 

  • Degree level education in Product, Industrial, Furniture or 3D Design (or related field)
  • Professional experience working with cosmetics or premium FMCG brands
  • Strong portfolio showing design process from sketch to shelf
  • Hands-on experience designing permanent POS retail displays
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Cinema 4D preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong sketching skills and flair for visual storytelling and graphic layout
  • Deep knowledge of materials (wood, metal, acrylics, etc.) and manufacturing processes
  • Passion for sustainable design and environmental impact awareness
  • Detail-oriented with strong on-brand execution
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to sell ideas
  • Familiarity with project management tools and handling multiple deadlines
  • Strategic, collaborative, fast-thinking, and shopper/client-focused mindset
