Position Summary:
The Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the Structured Products team in all facets of the investment product life cycle to help drive and implement Conning’s client investment strategy. The Analyst will support various structured products sectors (RMBS, ABS, and CMBS) and contribute to surveillance, relative value discussions, and allocation decisions. Participate in data collection, streamlining processes, offer new investment ideas, and complete special projects supporting product knowledge and potential new opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Assist the Structured Products (SP) Team in all facets of investment product life cycle, including but not limited to: credit analysis, trade execution, credit monitoring/surveillance, and contribution to relative value conversations to help drive allocation decisions.
• Significant responsibility with respect to data collection and maintenance to assist in relative value between SP sectors.
• Special projects to support both the SP team and broader investment team in product knowledge and potential new opportunities, including exploring new markets and authoring pieces for a broad audience.
Ancillary Responsibilities:
• Present new investment ideas to SP team as they arise.
• Work with existing data sets to streamline processes and develop new quantitative tools.
Requirements:
• One to three years of prior experience in capital markets, investments, finance, or similar background.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Structured Products experience is a plus.
• CoPilot, Coding, and/or macro experience is a plus.
Decision Making Level/Position Latitude:
• Significant autonomy under the SP team. Significantly contributes to the success of the SP team and the team’s overall performance.
• Mentorship offered by the SP team to help learn and grow in understanding of the broader SP universe.
