About the Role:

The Business Development Senior Specialist – Energy & Infrastructure is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for working in close collaboration with industry group chairs, key market leaders, and colleagues across the Business Development department to support the related industry groups to achieve their strategic marketing and business development goals, while developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of industry, practice, and market expertise, client mix, matter experience, trade groups, and media. This role will be located in our Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.



Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Employing knowledge to develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans, acting as a “dot connector” internally.
  • Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
  • Building and driving the marketing strategy for the industry group with a focus on measurable impact
  • Achieving fluency in our client base and supporting efforts to identify, pursue, and attain new business from new and existing clients
  • Working collaboratively across teams on strategic projects
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains 

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess knowledge of the industry landscape, including various players within the industry, trends, etc.
  • Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus

And have:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Business Development environment
  • A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably
