    Food & Nutrition Assistant

    HOURS:

    • Various

    DATES:

    • Ranges from: June  - August
    • Varies based on program type and location

    COMPENSATION: 

    • $15.00/Hr
    • Hours may vary depending on participation

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 

    • Participate in the preparation and serving of good quality food
    • Assist with the security, storage, and proper handling of food and supplies
    • Work to maintain standards of cleanliness, health, employee practices, and safety in the kitchen.
    • Assist with cooking and baking meals
    • Follow meal pattern requirement
    • Report equipment breakdowns according to procedures.
    • Complete payroll daily.
    • Positively represents the Department and District
    • Maintain open, positive communication with all people served by the food service department
    • Participate in meetings, in-services, and training, including computer training as requested
    • Process and complete all necessary paperwork or reports. Maintain accurate records.
    • Available to work flexible hours. Other duties as may be assigned 

    PREPARATION,EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:     

    • Ability to work independently.
    • Maintains a positive attitude.
    • Strong knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
    • Knowledge of meal pattern requirements
    • Accurate and detail oriented in processing paperwork.
    • Possess strong communication skills, customer service
    • Basic computer skills required
    • Demonstrates professional conduct and confidentiality at all times.
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
