Northstar Travel Group is seeking a highly motivated and sales-oriented Business Development Coordinator to join the BTN GroupThis junior-level position is a great opportunity for candidates who want to build their own sales career, while gaining exposure and insight into the workings of B2B media sales. Business Travel News is the leading B2B publication in the managed business travel and meetings industry. 

The ideal candidate will have stellar organizational and interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and proactivity, and creative approach to problem-solving. You will learn the business from a team with extensive experience and be part of our fast-paced and continued growth. You will also provide administrative support to the BTN Group sales team to help grow revenue. 

You will split your time between our New York City office (1 day per week) and working remote (4 days). Flexibility is provided. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the sales team by providing account coordination with digital production, audience development and events
  • Execute and input sales orders and all other required forms and paperwork to support sales activities
  • Manage revenue tracking/reporting 
  • Manage client communications and support for all event sponsors 
  • Understand customer needs and requirements

Sales Support

  • Update various sales tracking using internal reports and the company CRM, NetSuite master document with sponsor, cost, item, etc.
  • Support sales team with client proposal drafts for media and event program sponsorships
  • Monitor digital media programs and work alongside digital production team to collect performance stats and screen shots of media placements, and share with clients
  • Build and send client agreements through NetSuite 

Event Support/Sponsor Communications

  • Work with marketing to build ‘sponsor hubs’ for the 40+ events in the BTN Group portfolio
  • Manage all sponsor (client) communications for each event including sponsorship deliverables, registration updates and all other event-related information leading up to the event

What You Have: 

  • An aptitude and interest in sales
  • Prior experience with sales and administrative functions 
  • A high degree of professionalism
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills
  • Computer expertise with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), NetSuite or a similar customer relationship management software, and accounting and billing software
  • A bachelor’s degree in travel, hospitality, marketing or advertising preferred

The annual base salary range for this role is $60,000-$65,000 and is commensurate with experience.
