POSITION DESCRIPTION


 


POSITION TITLE:       SUMMER FACILITIES & GROUNDS ASSISTANT


 


REPORTS TO:             DIRECTOR OF GROUNDS AND FACILITIES


 


POSITION SUMMARY:


Work with the Director of Grounds and Facilities as well as other staff in all areas of maintenance and repair related to facilities and grounds.


 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Assist in irrigation and general grooming of site lawns, shrubs, etc.

  2. Assist in installation and repair of sprinkler and other mechanical systems.

  3. Assist in interior and exterior building repairs.

  4. Assist in moving furniture and equipment.

  5. Assist with painting of buildings, playground equipment, grounds, and facilities.

  6. Assist with maintenance and repair of parking lots and sidewalks.

  7. Assist with general maintenance and repair of equipment, grounds, and facilities as needed.

  8. Practice safety and promote safety awareness with other employees.

  9. Perform such other duties as directed or required by the Director of Grounds and Facilities.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  1. Ability to follow written & oral instructions.

  2. Possess effective English communication skills (oral & written).

  3. Demonstrate initiative and time management skills.

  4. Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  5. Hold a valid Colorado driver’s license.

  6. Able to lift 100 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and twist.


 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  2. Willing to learn and apply new and/or adaptive skills essential to the position.

  3. Such other alternatives as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.


 


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:


Employees in this position can expect to work outside as well as inside school district buildings, in a variety of conditions.  The employee will work in various size spaces with varied numbers of diverse adults.  These environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
