We are looking to add a motivated CNC Operator to our 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM) at our structural steel fabrication facility in Coatesville.
Working as part of a small crew, this role will work with CNC equipment, including beam drill line (BDL) and Python-style plate processing equipment, to cut, drill, punch, mark, and prepare steel components for fabrication.
Having experience with the following is helpful: CNC machinery, structural steel, fabrication drawings, measuring tools, overhead cranes, and material handling
But we are willing to train the right person.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate CNC beam line and Python/plate processing equipment
- Load, position, and unload structural steel material safely
- Read basic work orders, cut lists, drawings, and part markings
- Measure material and verify dimensions for accuracy
- Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed
- Support drilling, coping, cutting, punching, layout, and part identification
- Maintain quality, productivity, and safe work practices
- Work as part of a fabrication team building large-scale structural steel projects
This is a hands-on production role with training provided. The ideal candidate has strong attendance, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn CNC equipment used in structural steel fabrication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in hands-on, equipment-based work
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math (fractions, decimals)
- Willingness to learn CNC equipment, including beam drill line (BDL) and Python/plate processing systems — training provided
- Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic in a production environment
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and handle physical tasks (lifting, positioning materials, etc.)
- Comfortable working in a shop environment (noise, dust, temperature changes)
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to take directions and learn from experienced operators
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or fabrication
- Exposure to CNC equipment, plasma cutting, drilling, or machining
- Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes
- Ability to read basic fabrication drawings or blueprints
