Job Description:

The Retirement Technician provides administrative and operational support for retirement processing activities, including mail handling, document preparation, and data entry. This role supports high-volume, lower-complexity tasks to enable efficient case processing. Expertise in government retirement support services for annuity and non-annuity retirement cases, retirement coverage code (RCC), Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Corrections Act (FERCCA) cases in accordance with the applicable federal statues, OPM guidance and agency policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and proofread incoming retirement mail
  • Sort, match, and distribute retirement-related documents
  • Assemble and prepare case files for processing
  • Perform data entry and records validation
  • Package and distribute outgoing retirement correspondence
  • Maintain document tracking and filing systems

Experience Requirements:

  • 1�2 years of administrative or HR support experience
  • Familiarity with document processing and data entry systems
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads with accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High School diploma
  • Experience working in an office environment processing large volumes of complex transactions/cases and documents in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills, communication skills, and excellent accounting reconciliation and certification skills for fast paced processing of retirement cases and verifying the accuracy of reported data.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office including WORD and EXCEL.
  • Skilled in the use of office equipment, including but not limited to Copy/Scan machines and Microfiche machines and ten-key calculator.
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal retirement regulations, especially those associated with retirement processing.
  • Experience working in a team environment to achieve results and ensure customer satisfaction is delivered.
