Business Operations Intern
Department: Customer Success
Location: San Antonio, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Weeks
General Summary
This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in office operations, project management, and organizational support while working in a dynamic environment. Work closely with staff on research, program development, and creative positive impacts within the community. Apply concepts and academic knowledge to real world scenarios and challenges. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in gaining practical experience in the non-profit sector while contributing to meaningful social change.
The Business Operations Intern will support a defined process improvement initiative focused on automating billing workflows within Customer Success. This role is responsible for analyzing current manual billing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and developing automated solutions using SQL, Excel, and related tools to improve accuracy, consistency, and scalability. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Finance, and IT to deliver a structured automation framework, including documented processes, standardized templates, and validation controls.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Tasks
Document the current-state freight and one-off billing process, including workflows, data sources, and manual dependencies
Analyze billing cycles and historical data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and risk areas
Develop SQL queries and/or data extraction methods to support billing data aggregation
Design and build Excel-based automation tools (Power Query, formulas, and/or macros) to standardize data transformation and validation
Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure billing accuracy and completeness
Support parallel testing of automated workflows against live billing cycles
Develop process documentation, including SOPs, controls, and fallback procedures
Present final deliverables, including automation outputs, efficiency improvements, and recommendations
Non-Essential Tasks
Support ad hoc reporting or analysis requests as needed
Participate in team meetings and cross-functional discussions
Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields:
Management Information Systems
Computer Science
Data Analytics or Business Analytics
Finance or Accounting (with strong technical focus)
Experience
Preferred:
Academic or internship experience working with data analysis or process improvement
Experience using Excel for data manipulation (pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
Exposure to SQL or other data querying tools
Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) is a plus
experience.
Knowledge
Must maintain knowledge of and perform according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.
Must acquire a working knowledge of BioBridge Global and its subsidiaries’ programs.
Must acquire a working knowledge of department procedures.
Basic understanding of data structures and data analysis concepts
Skills
Must have the capability to be a self-motivated and self-managed individual.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
