Description

The Lease and Rental Sales role will be responsible to train under the mentorship of the Director of Sales and other dealership personnel assigned to mentor specific functions/disciplines. This role will be tasked with effectively selling lease and rental products throughout an assigned market area.



Major Duties and Responsibilities



Attend all MPG, Peterbilt, and third party training classes and sales meetings as assigned.



Study truck and equipment specifications to improve knowledge of product performance and application.



Gather market data and conduct research.



Collaborate with fellow employees and suppliers.



Develop an account plan for area target accounts.



Develop customer relationships.



Assist with MPG marketing activities:




  1. Work with marketing to post trucks on publication websites, print media, and other promotions

  2. Produce “walk around” videos



 Develop compelling customer presentations that clearly define the lease value story benefits.



Secure customer commitments.



Follow up on all details pertaining to orders and transaction paperwork, contracts, and insurance.



Conduct safety meetings for existing lease customers.



Review existing lease customer driver qualification files to confirm they are being maintained by the customer.



Attend industry events, open houses, golf outings, etc.



Maintain professional appearance.



Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education



High School graduate or GED required.



Prior experience in heavy-duty truck sales, lease, and /or rental preferred.



Moderate to intermediate computer skills with fundamental computer operations, spreadsheets, word processing, and database, e-mail, and CRM software.



Language Skills



The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, legal documents, and government regulations.



The ability to write reports and business correspondence.



The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, common inquires, or complaints from customers and the general public.



Mathematical Skills



The ability of performing basic math as well as calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, statistics, area, circumference, and volume.



The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.



Reasoning Ability



The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting, and possessing an understanding of the appropriate time to speak.



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations



Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or be able to attain a CDL driver’s license within six months of hire date and meet insurability requirements with the Company’s insurance company.



Travel



Three days per week should be allotted for contacting new and established customers to follow up on appointments that were previously scheduled.
