POSITION SUMMARY: The elementary Assistant Principal will manage curriculum, assessments, and building personnel support.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Key Results Area #1 Oversee academic curriculum and assessments
- Work with the principal to evaluate grade-level academics and assessments
- Manage Curriculum orders
- Organize IOWA and CogAT Testing
- Check and Submit Report Cards
- Key Results Area #2 Facilitate avenues for additional student and teacher support
- Hire and train university students who are employed as classroom aides
- Communicate as liaison with LRC, speech, and OT teams
- Observe students to assist teachers with ideas for strategies and problem solving
- Train teachers in recording lessons for self-evaluation
- Key Results Area #3 Provide operational leadership support
- Assist with chapel and event set up/tear down
- Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal
- Assist with the coordination of school activities and safety procedures
- Communicate the religious beliefs of BJA to students and student affiliates
- Answer questions concerning faith, doctrine, and creed of BJA to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJA
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication skills
- Superior organizational abilities and problem-solving skills
- Experience as an elementary classroom teacher
- Master's degree
- 1-2 years related experience
