Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The elementary Assistant Principal will manage curriculum, assessments, and building personnel support.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Key Results Area #1 Oversee academic curriculum and assessments
    • Work with the principal to evaluate grade-level academics and assessments
    • Manage Curriculum orders
    • Organize IOWA and CogAT Testing
    • Check and Submit Report Cards
  • Key Results Area #2 Facilitate avenues for additional student and teacher support
    • Hire and train university students who are employed as classroom aides
    • Communicate as liaison with LRC, speech, and OT teams
    • Observe students to assist teachers with ideas for strategies and problem solving
    • Train teachers in recording lessons for self-evaluation
  • Key Results Area #3 Provide operational leadership support
    • Assist with chapel and event set up/tear down
    • Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal
    • Assist with the coordination of school activities and safety procedures
    •  Communicate the religious beliefs of BJA to students and student affiliates
    • Answer questions concerning faith, doctrine, and creed of BJA to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJA

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Superior organizational abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Experience as an elementary classroom teacher
  • Master's degree
  • 1-2 years related experience
