Position Overview:

Northwestern Health Sciences University is seeking a creative and motivated Student Social Media Coordinator to support the Clinics and TruNorth Wellness Hub from late May through October. This role will work closely with the Assistant Director of Brand & Content Management to plan, create, and manage content for Facebook and Instagram.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a student interested in marketing, content creation, and storytelling in healthcare. You'll gain real-world experience developing social strategies, capturing content, and engaging with audiences, skills you can carry into your future career or practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design social media graphics using Canva
  • Capture and create engaging video content, including Reels
  • Stay up to date on social media trends and pitch new content ideas
  • Collaborate with supervisor to plan and execute a monthly content calendar (approximately 3 posts per week per platform)
  • Write clear, engaging, on-brand social media captions
  • Schedule and publish posts across platforms
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and engagement
  • Assist in gathering content and information for campaigns and promotions
  • Attend regular check-in meetings with supervisor
  • Ensure all content aligns with NWHSU brand guidelines and approval processes

Qualifications:

  • Current NWHSU student
  • Comfortable being on camera
  • Interest or experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
  • Experience with Canva or similar design tools preferred
  • Experience managing content calendars preferred
  • Basic video editing skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to take initiative
  • Creative thinker with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a team
  • Willingness to use personal cellphone to capture content

Additional Details:

  • On-campus presence required for content capture as needed
  • Flexible hours based on student schedule (10-15 hours per week)
