- Clogged drains, repair of leaky faucets, valve repair/replacement, routine plumbing, etc�
- General painting as needed
- Furniture repair, repair of window shelves, partitions, walls, cabinets, etc...
- Replace ceiling/floor tiles, general carpentry, plaster, drywall insulation, tile, etc...
- Change light bulbs, lights, motors, clocks, change face/outlet plates, basic maintain/repair heating and ventilation systems
- Replace locks, locker maintenance, routine repairs
- Contact qualified repair persons when necessary.
- Maintain grounds to insure public safety and an attractive appearance
- Interact with students and staff in a positive manner in halls
- Prioritize tasks and complete as necessary
- Answer questions regarding concerns relating to OSHA and the Fire Marshall requirements as per district wide guidelines.
- Participate in in-service training programs and keep up-to-date with "Employee Right to Know" programs, etc�
- Perform other duties as may be assigned

General Definition of Work
To maintain the physical school plant and grounds, in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times. To promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees. To work cooperatively with all staff. Work is performed under moderate supervision of the Director of Building and Grounds.

Essential Functions
Understanding of OSHA guidelines and safety policies.
Check alarms.
Repairs equipment, classroom materials, light bulbs, paper towels, and bathroom assemblies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Work with the district wide mechanical and maintenance supervisors and the building principal in maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
Perform basic maintenance in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical areas; i.e., fix faucets, patch walls, change filters, belts, etc...
Perform shipping, receiving, and clerical tasks. Keep an inventory of supplies, equipment on hand, recommend purchase, and requisition as needed.
Establish and maintain preventive maintenance operational systems and keep necessary records.
Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others. Report to the building principal as needed.
Monitor the United States flag, changing, and adjusting as needed.
Perform daily maintenance to include, but not limited to:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 75 pounds of force; work has no physical activity requirements; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
Special Requirements
Chemical safety, MSDS or cleaning training or experience preferred.
Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota.
Salary Range depends on experience (Adult $18.48- $20.08/hr., Under 18 $9.31/hr., 18+ $11.41/hr.)
