Job Summary
A Senior BIM Modeler – Bridges is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing detailed BIM models for bridge and transportation infrastructure projects. The role includes preparing accurate 3D bridge models, reinforcement detailing, civil structures coordination, and ensuring compliance with project standards and engineering requirements. The Senior BIM Modeler works closely with bridge engineers, structural designers, BIM coordinators, and project managers to support design development, construction documentation, and digital project delivery throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities (Financial)
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for bridge and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare bridge components modeling including:
- Deck slabs
- Piers and abutments
- Bearings and foundations
- Prestressed and reinforced concrete elements
- Steel bridge structures
- Produce reinforcement detailing and shop drawings based on engineering design.
- Coordinate bridge models with civil, structural, geotechnical, utility, and roadway disciplines.
- Perform clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination using Navisworks.
- Generate construction drawings, GA drawings, sections, schedules, and quantity take-offs.
- Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), project standards, and client requirements.
- Support 4D/5D BIM workflows when required.
- Review and validate model accuracy, geometry, and constructability.
- Mentor junior BIM modelers and provide technical guidance.
- Manage model revisions, updates, and documentation control.
- Participate in coordination meetings and resolve BIM-related technical issues.
- Maintain model data integrity and adherence to LOD requirements.
Experience & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Typically 5–10 years of BIM modeling experience in bridge or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on highway bridges, flyovers, metro viaducts, railway bridges, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience in reinforcement detailing and structural coordination.
- Proficiency in:
- Autodesk Revit
- Civil 3D
- Navisworks
- AutoCAD
- OpenBridge Modeler (preferred)
- Knowledge of bridge construction methods and detailing standards.
- Understanding of BIM standards, LOD requirements, and ISO 19650 workflows.
- Familiarity with reinforcement detailing and infrastructure BIM practices.
