Job Description

Job Description:

The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative is responsible for timely, courteous, and accurate collection of patient information to admit patients into the Emergency Department services. 

As the point of contact for internal and external parties, this individual will be responsible for:

  • Answering phones and directing calls to appropriate departments.

  • Registration for facility departments including emergency department and outpatient procedures for radiology and laboratory services.

  • Stocking rooms and supply carts.

  • Assists patient with activities of daily living as patient needs require.

  • Communicating patient care needs, changes in condition, observations and responses to the appropriate RN.

  • Maintaining cleanliness of department and patient rooms.

  • Coordinates patient room turnover to support timely patient flow between patients.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION: GED or High School Diploma required. 

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years experience in a patient care setting preferred. 

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of hire required. Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within first year of employment required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from the State of Nebraska or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from the State of Nebraska required.
