Human Resources and Talent Manager

Location: Commerce City, Colorado

Schedule: Year-Round, In-Person, On-Site

Salary Range: $55,000–$75,000 annually

Start Date: Immediate or upon availability



Position Overview

Community Leadership Academy (CLA) is seeking a skilled and mission-driven, on site, 
Human Resources and Talent Manager to support and strengthen its two-campus public charter school network, with proven ability to initiate and execute the duties of a sole contributor. This year-round position plays a vital role in recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, benefits coordination, and cultivating a healthy, inclusive workplace culture. With approximately 100 employees, the HR and Talent Manager ensures that people systems are efficient, compliant, and aligned to the school’s mission and values.



Key Responsibilities:



Talent Acquisition and Hiring




  • Manage recruitment and hiring processes, including job postings, candidate outreach, interviews, and offer letters

  • Collaborate with school leaders to ensure timely staffing aligned with school needs and organizational values

  • Maintain accurate job descriptions and oversee applicant tracking systems

  • Build and maintain recruitment pipelines through partnerships with colleges, universities, and educator preparation programs

  • Represent the school at job fairs, college recruitment events, and educator expos to strengthen visibility and attract top talent



Employee On-boarding and Engagement




  • Lead new hire on-boarding and orientation to ensure strong starts for all staff

  • Coordinate background checks, documentation, and compliance steps for new employees

  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture through staff events, communication, and engagement efforts

  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure new hires receive mentorship and feedback for success in their first year



Employee Support and Relations




  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related needs

  • Provide guidance on policies and practices with professionalism and clarity

  • Support morale, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving when issues arise

  • Build trust and strong relationships across departments to identify challenges early and strengthen workplace belonging

  • Partner with leadership to enhance wellness initiatives, professional goal-setting, and communication systems



Benefits Coordination and Compliance




  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and serve as liaison with benefit providers

  • Track and monitor leave usage (PTO, FMLA, COBRA, and Workers’ Compensation) and ensure accurate documentation

  • Maintain secure and compliant employee records and support audits or required reporting

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and charter school regulations



HR Operations and Systems




  • Maintain and update HR forms, policies, and employee handbooks

  • Use the Paycom platform daily to manage employee records, benefits, payroll, and reporting functions

  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across HR systems
