Description

A Catholic preschool aide supports the lead teacher by fostering a nurturing, faith-based environment for young children, helping with classroom management, daily activities (art, play), and hygiene. They model Catholic values, supervise students, and assist with many daily tasks while upholding the school's mission.


Key Responsibilities:


  •  Faith & Ministry: Witness Gospel values, encourage spiritual growth, and integrate Catholic teachings into daily routines.
  •  Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor, adhere to diocesan policies, and maintain confidentiality.
  •  Assist the classroom teacher in the supervision of the students in every setting during the school day.
  •  Actively support student learning and assist students when and where needed.
  •  Assist, monitor, and guide students, participate in activities, and complete tasks in every setting during the school day.
  •  Assist in implementing behavior management strategies.
  •  Work in small groups or individual students as directed by the teacher.
  •  Assist the classroom teacher with any preparation of classroom materials/lesson plans as needed.
  •  Attend additional events if necessary (scheduled training, staff meetings, open house, etc.)
  •  Must have the ability to interact with students on the floor and at children table level for extended periods of time.
  •  Oversee safety in the classroom and ensure a clean environment.
  •  Regular, reliable attendance is required.
  •  Work is performed primarily in a classroom setting. Employees are required to move throughout the classroom to monitor student performance and behavior. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach and sit.
  •  Salary range is $17.00 - $17.50 depending on experience.
  •  Hours per week would range from 12 to 25.
  • This position does not qualify for health benefits or paid time off, but can participate in the State of Colorado's FAMLI  (Family and Medical Leave Insurance) program depending on the number of hours worked and the State's HFWA (Health Families and Workplace Act).

Requirements

Qualifications:

  •  Faith Alignment: Commitment to the Catholic faith, with a willingness to model it for students.
  •  Education: A high school diploma is required. Some early childhood education (ECE) experience or credits through Colorado Shines is preferred, but not required.
  •  Certifications: Compliance with diocesan Safe Environment requirements (e.g., background check, Safe Parish training).
  •  Physical Ability: Capable of some lifting, sitting on the floor, and engaging in active, noisy classrooms.
  •  Skills: Strong communication, patience, and ability to work as part of a team
  •  Must be 18 years of age and work directly under the direction of the director.
