Job Description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an on-call position available for a water/wastewater technician.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining treatment systems (piping pumps, valves, and tanks); preparing chemicals for treatment systems
  • Preparing chemicals for treatment systems
  • Operating and maintaining instrumentation on treatment systems and meters (calibration, repair, troubleshooting)
  • Laboratory sampling and recordkeeping
  • Preparing field reports
  • Year round entering of waterways for collection of data with data logging equipment
  • Maintaining stream data logging equipment: and general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment

 

The hours for this position could vary weekly from zero to 20, and potentially sometimes more than 40. This position will be in our Indian River area office and sometimes may travel to various project sites; it is currently an On-Call (i.e., no benefits) position which could potentially be converted to a regular, benefits-eligible position.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • A certificate or higher in water technology or a related field

--OR--

  • If no certificate, at least one (1) year of relevant experience

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Creating and managing Excel spreadsheets
  • Editing technical reports using MS Word
  • OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and performing work within these regulations
  • Database management
  • Water and/or wastewater operations (maintaining piping, pumps, valves, and tanks)
  • Laboratory environments
